Recent Articles I just published an article in a Spanish magazine. Titulcia: Ruta de los Cortados is a local travel article about hiking & biking the country lanes in the southeast of the province of Madrid, Spain. Can't read Spanish? Take a look anyway if just to enjoy the photographs. https://writingfromeurope.tripod.com/articles/Titulcia_rutadeloscortados.html xx |

No distribution... In this issue of WfE, I have linked an article that I wrote for a Spanish magazine. The story behind it is one of coincidences and shows that, following your heart's desires, you can be a published writer too. x During the summer, I read an article in this same magazine about a guide book for 7 different hiking trails near my house. I love to hike and I wanted to buy a copy of the book immediately but the article provided no information as to where to find it. x I wrote to the magazine and they sent me the information. It was edited and published by a government agency whose offices are in Madrid. I was quite dismayed when the agency told me that the book was not being distributed. They had no distributor. "Actually," the young man explained, "we haven't had a distributor for the last year & a half." x I immediately sent this information back to the editor with my proposal for a first-person article about the route closest to my house. He liked the idea and when he received the story and the photos he was liked it so much that he ran my article and photos as a full page spread! x |

Mystery Shopping This is a new experience for me. I have signed up for an international mystery shopping company. There are many assignments in Europe, far more than I had expected. I have found the they are not well paying but combined assignments near where you live could be profitable. More details in the next edition. |
