WfE - Festivities

Christmas is coming and the decorations are already up in the malls in Spain. The streets in downtown Madrid are strung with the traditional Christmas lights...more than a month before the big celebration. The major celebration in Spain is not the birth of the Christ child but rather the visit by the wise men. The Three Kings bring gifts to the children of Spain on the 6^th of January as they had brought gifts to the baby Jesus.

Nonetheless, the tradition of Santa Claus is gaining popularity. As a question of practicality really...certain toys, party dresses and other like presents are arriving in a sleigh driven by reindeer and not on the back of camels. Why? Because children go back to school on the 7^th of January and Santa comes almost two weeks before...more time to play with those toys! [fotos]

WfE - Travel in Your Backyard

Life's little quirks can limit your ability to travel as widely and freely as you would like or need to for your work.  I know this feeling all to well.   Another job, children, illness, etc. can limit one's exploration flexibility.   This situation, like any other one in life, is just a matter of adaptation.   "Just", what a comfortable word.  Too comfortable I'd say.  But to forge forward you have to find markets that want travel information about your own backyard.  Okay, don't be so literal.  Think a little further than that.   Think your city, your county, think your state or province.  Think local. I recently saw a press release made by a union about a wage protest. The text of it led me to understand that people had appeared in masses and that there was popular support for the union cause. However, the photos that accompanied it showed another story. Yes, there was a protest but the photos clearly demonstrated that the attendance was less than massive. It did not illustrate the text but rather had the opposite effect, it proved that the text was a lie. [more]
