How can I start? If you have a few dollars to invest but limited time: Join one of the "Pay to Join" survey provider clubs. I've only listed a few. These give you quick access to hundreds of survey providers with information about each one. You want to join at least 20 and 50 survey providers if you can, so this pre-complied info is a real time saver. They also provide good information for beginners as well as some tools to help you speed up the registration process. I only list companies with money-back guarantees.If you have more time to invest than money: Join all the "Free to Join" survey providers listed here and don't hesitate to go out on the Internet and find some more. I have listed pertinent information about each provider in the right-hand column and "My Rating" below the links if I have joined that particular survey provider.
Make it Important. Open an email account exclusively for the purpose of receiving survey invitations and related mail. This doesn't cost anything as you can use any of the free email services offered by companies such as Lycos, Hotmail or Yahoo. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR email account JUNK FILTER as some survey invitations and survey newsletters may get caught in them.

Survey provider that offers prizes and cash. Pay is often times low but this a bit better than cash raffles. My Rating: A good place to start for someone trying to earn a few bucks to invest a "Pay to Join" listing. Includes a members lounge where you can go to check to see if you have any surveys instead of relying exclusively on emails. Usually load new surveys on Fridays.

Keep Yourself Informed: Industry Newsletters. Aside from mine, I've only found two more on the market. They contain survey leads, more provider's links, helpful information and other work at home opportunities. Survey Newsletters Fill-in WfE - Paid Surveys OnLine in "Your Name" section and the email of you and your friends in the "Friend"s boxes. Surveys Pay Cash Newsletter - My newsletter that will walk you through the steps of setting up an on-line survey business at home. You'll see that surveys really do pay cash! Click on the link or open your mail and send a blank email to: surveyspaycash@sendfree.com. Weekly Web Poll lets you subscribe to their free paid survey newsletter and has direct links to paying surveys.

I recommend this as a starting place if you have a few bucks to invest. Often times they have survey offers for joining members that pay up to $25. This reduces your investment to only $15. Definitely worth the modest investment.
