As a young adult I wanted to come and live in Europe, not just visit.  But getting a work permit as an American was anything but easy.  I didn't get my opportunity until some 15 years later after acquiring my Master's degree and 18 months of job searching.  Now, I see that there are easier ways to come to Europe and stay a while; work as a freelance.  Now, why didn't I think of that when I was young?  Because the Internet was not what it is today, a wonderful source of online job opportunities.
An online survey business is one of those opportunities.  But like any business you must build it up.  The Surveys Pay Cash newsletter will walk you through the most important steps of building up this business so that you can work at home or anywhere else in the world that has access to the Internet.

WfE - The Church Counts the Money
There is a certain pleasure in finding a well-preserved, historic object in the context in which it was used.  Art lovers can appreciate how rare it is to find a painting hanging in the same spot that it was orignally hung almost 500 years later with the same natural lighting, the same church and over the same tomb.

This story begins almost 700 years ago when the Count of the town of Orgaz, a fuedal populace just south of Toledo in Spain, died leaving lands and money to the church of Saint Thomas in the city of Toledo.  He also promised this church pledges ad infinitum from his vassals and their descendants.  As the years passed, the peoples of Orgaz felt this was no longer just and refused to continue the pledged tithing to the church [more]

Let's Continue the Photography Lessons...
Every Picture Tells A Story
The image that you capture with your camera can be the basis of your article instead of the other way around.  Long before you have conscientiously decided the focus of your article, your eye may have already captured the most interesting aspect of your destination.  [More in the Easy Travel Photography guide

Links, Sources & Resources
In order to make a living freelancing, there is an essential need to diversify.  This concept is expressed in a WfE article written last year; freelancers are just that...free.  Free to choose contracts, free to travel and free to do more than one type of job.  The only constant is that when a freelancer has more than one source of income, the two tend to be complimentary if not inter-related.  The freelance travel writer may also write for parenting magazines and the music review columnist is probably a DJ as well.

In keeping with the vein of writing and photography, I began to explore the Greeting Card industry.  It is an industry that is still viable off line and growing rapidly online.  It is more a question of finding a the company that has a need for your type of prose or class of photography then about actually doing the work.

Two companies that are actively looking for fresh input are Avanti Press and Concord Litho.  [more]
